Sorare SAS is a French company that runs an NFT fantasy-sports product. It is not a casino operator. The instrument on file is a JONUM declaration receipt, not a gambling agrément.

What it is

Players buy and use NFT player cards and enter contests. The French framework (JONUM: jeux à objets numériques monétisables) treats that mix as chance, a financial sacrifice, and monetisable digital objects. It is a lighter regime than licensed jeux d'argent. Cash prizes in legal tender are not a JONUM reward. Crypto-asset ancillary rewards are capped, on the ANJ's own page, at €25,000 per player per year per game, and in-kind at €1,000.

Classify it with how onchain games work: the cards are onchain objects. The contest loop is not, on the public record we opened, a fully onchain game. This page does not turn that into a score.

Who operates it

Legal name: société SORARE / Sorare SAS. RCS Créteil 844 355 727. Siège 14 avenue du Général de Gaulle, 94160 Saint-Mandé.

One legal person. No casino page. There is no second licensee to collapse.

The instrument

Offer declared: SORARE PRO.

Instrument: ANJ récépissé de déclaration préalable n° 2026-02, dated 16 April 2026. Declaration complete 31 March 2026. Regulator: Autorité nationale des jeux (France). Framework: JONUM, law 2024-449 arts. 40–41; décret 2026-60 (4 February 2026, in force 7 February 2026).

The receipt does not prejudge conformity with the legal rules. It is not an agrément de jeux d'argent. It is not a casino licence. Do not read “JONUM” as “licensed casino.”

What runs onchain

NFT player cards are onchain objects. That does not make the product a fully onchain game, and it does not make the récépissé a gambling licence. Chance, prize, and who operates remain a legal question in crypto games vs gambling. JONUM is the France-facing declaration regime. Geo beyond that is not sourced here.

What we are not saying

Not a licensed casino. Not an agrément. Not an invitation to play. Not a ranking. Size (GGR, players) is omitted; Sorare did not publish a first-party figure we used.

How this page was reported

Last updated 26 August 2026. Built from the ANJ JONUM page and the ANJ récépissé 2026-02 PDF (legal name, SIREN, offer name, dates). Secondary press was a pointer only. kalshi.com-style operator marketing was not the source. Not legal advice.
